We have several pastimes but our original one is American Square dancing which we have now been doing since October 1988.

We had been dancing for 7 years and during '95 some friends got together and, as I was the youngest, decided that I should learn how to be a "caller". I didn't really know what I was letting myself in for but I decided to have a go. I now take great delight in putting them through their paces. After learning to call we started out on our own this was in '96 and our club name is the name we have used for the web site.

We also enjoy holidays abroad, which lead us to buying our own place in the sun. Our apartment is in the town of Mojacar which is on the Costa del Almeria in the province of Andalusia in Spain. This area is known locally as "The corner of Enchantment".

Additional to the dancing thing and holidaying in the apartment I also turn wood, which is the art of making large lumps of tree-wood into small lumps of tree-wood. I have been doing this since 2001 and have a great time making shavings, some of which always seem to end up on the house carpets much to the annoyance of Chris.
